From 01.01.2024, an electronic travel authorisation (eTA) is required for EVERY visitor (foreigners, except citizens of EAC member states), including infants and children, to enter the Republic of Kenya.
This can be applied for via the following link: www.etakenya.go.ke
Applications via third party websites will be rejected without comment.
The eTA system has replaced the eVisa system for Kenya and is currently in force.
Previously issued eVisa remain valid.
It is recommended to apply for the eTA at least three days before travelling to Kenya to allow sufficient time for the permit to be issued.
Travel information is a mandatory part of the application process. Therefore, you can only apply for the eTA after you have booked your travel and accommodation.
However, travellers can also submit their applications 3 months before their trip. However, it is recommended that travellers apply as soon as they have booked their flight tickets and accommodation/travel packages in Kenya.
