Day 1 : Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park
Pick up from your hotel at 08.00 and drive to the Great Rift Valley to see the scenery on the way. We then arrive at “Pink Lake” often so called because of its large masses of flamingos, in time for lunch. Lunch will be at a lodge followed by full game drives. Dinner and overnight at Flamingo Hill Tented Lodge or a similar lodge. Lake Nakuru is famous for its flamingos and over 400 bird species. The lake itself is a soda lake at the bottom of the Rift Valley. The sight of sometimes millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears pinkish red. The lake also has a reputation as an important retreat for endangered species, especially the Rothschild giraffe and the black and white rhinos. It is also home to lions, waterbucks, buffalos and baboons.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara
We start the departure from the lodge quite soon after breakfast and drive to the Masai Mara to arrive there in time for lunch. Late afternoon game drives are followed by dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge or a similar lodge.
Day 3: Masai Mara
Full day exploring the park in search of the Big Five. Optional balloon safari arranged at an extra charge of US $ 450 per person. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge or similar.
The Mara is home to wildlife in such abundance that it is hard to believe that there are over 450 species of animals. Lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, gnus, zebras, buffalos, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalos, leopards, many species of antelopes and elephants are easy to spot. In the Masai Mara, perhaps the most spectacular event takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeests and zebras from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and grazing land. On their heels are the predators of the savannah, cheetahs, wild dogs, jackals, hyenas and vultures.
Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi
Game drives before breakfast, then return to Nairobi via Narok where we will arrive by 14:00 and where the tour ends.
Places of interest:
Flamingo (large and small), large white pelicans and other water birds including a variety of other birds counting about 450 species.
Mammals: 56 different species, including black rhinoceroses, white rhinoceroses, lions.
Viewpoints: Lion hill, Bamboo cliff and Out of Africa

Lake Nakuru National Park
The park is located 140km northwest of Nairobi in Nakuru County. The alkaline lake has a crusty coastline surrounded by wooded and bushy meadows. Famous for its flamingos (larger and smaller), which make the coast carmine red, including 450 other bird species. The park is rich in wildlife with both species of rhinos (black and white), buffalos, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, baboons, green monkeys and wildebeests.
