Remote, rugged and unspoilt, Meru National Park covers an area of 870 sq. km. Although largely set in the wilderness, the park is strikingly beautiful. There are few places that can compare to this great destination.
Meru National Park is located in the county of the same name, at an altitude ranging from 300 to 940 metres above sea level. Mount Kenya lies around 100 kilometres southwest of the park.
The Bisanadi Reserve borders the park to the east. To the south, the park borders Kora National Park and Mwingi National Reserve. Several rivers run through the park, shaping its diverse and charming landscape. Palm trees line the riverbanks and baobabs dot the open plains.
Off the beaten tourist track, you will find a fascinating landscape, rich flora and fauna, and interesting hiking opportunities.
Unlike the famous Masai Mara, there are only a few places to stay in Meru National Park. Consequently, few tourists visit. This makes it the perfect place for those who appreciate a relaxed nature experience.
