Amazing 2 Day Tsavo East Safari with overnight stay at Voi Wildlife Lodge Our plan was to spend 10 days on the beach doing nothing so a safari trip was not on the cards and very much a last minute thing. Our hotel recommended Marco Polo Safaris and Marco suggested the overnight stop at Voi Wildlife Lodge. It was a 7am start and a 3.5 hour drive to Tsavo East with a comfort break along the way. They are improving the roads for the heavy lorry traffic and as such it did take a little longer to get there and back then it should do. Our driver, Sifa, was amazing and got us there safe and sound. We then had a 2 hour game drive through the park to get to our lodge where we had lunch and some down time. Sifa then took us out for another 2 hour game drive and as soon as we entered we saw hundreds of elephants, and I mean hundreds. We have been to the Masai Mara and Kruger before but I have never seen so many elephants. In addition to Giraffes, Zebra and Antelope we were really lucky to also see 2 lion cubs that afternoon doing their Simba and Mustafa impression sat up on a rock whilst there parents went off in search of food. The evening was spent at the hotel which had a large watering hole with viewing platform where we could watch the hippo, elephants, buffalo and antelope whilst enjoying dinner and a much needed cold beer! It was an early start again at 7am for a further 2 hour game drive before starting our journey back to Diani Beach. Sifa knew we wanted to see more lions and possibly cheetah if possible and kept in constant radio contact with other drivers for possible sightings. Our 2 lion cubs had moved on and been joined by mum and dad who were all having an early morning snooze. It was just fabulous! My husband has always wanted to see a cobra and was absolutely thrilled to see a King Cobra and Spitting Cobra out in the wild. Thankfully, we didnt get too close! I would absolutely recommend this trip and it is really good value for money. Make sure you ask for Sifa as your guide because he is just great. The hotel was basic (supposedly 4 star) but where maybe it was somewhat dated, the watering hole viewing more than made up for it.
Fantastic safari From the moment we contacted Marco we were impressed with everything. Contact was easy and he tailor made our 3 night safari in Amboseli, Tsavo West and East. The lodges chosen were great and I will write separate reviews on them. He changed the lodge on the last night as the recent reviews of the original lodge on the last night had not been good. Abdul our guide was brilliant collecting us on time from our hotel in Nairobi and driving us to Amboseli for the first day. He was a great guide, pointing out animals that we could not have seen without his expertise. We then went on to Tsavo and the whole time, he was very informative about life in Kenya and the animals. We were dropped at our hotel in Diani at the end. Would definitely recommend Marco Polo and Abdul. We felt the safari was very good value.
The Best Safari! We had an 11 day safari with Marco Polo safaris and it was the best experience. I enquired with many companies before travelling and Marco was great at replying and giving advice on the best way to do such a long safari which included an internal flight and a hot air balloon trip. There is always a worry about making payments in advance but that's where trust is essential and I would not hesitate to use Marco again or to recommend him and his company to anyone. He even booked and arranged our hotel at Diani beach which saved us time and effort. 
Animal paradise We enjoyed the experience of safari with Marco Polo in three days and two nights: we have seen both Tsavo East and Tsavo West.
Safari with Michael Amazing time with Michael on Safari from Marco Polo Safaris. I really recommend them - they really knows what they are doing and doing it in the best way. We had our trip with Michael - 7 days safari starting in Nairobi up to Diani Beach and visiting on the way Masai Mara, Nakuru Lake Amboseli, Tsavo East & West. Michael was our guide and he is amazing person - very knowledgeable, experienced, knowing a lot about animals' habits and how to find the very best spot (and very close) to watch them. He is able notice animals out from nowhere - many times we had opportunity to spend long time with animals (lions, cheetah etc.) without anyone around. And yes - we saw big 5 and much, much more 🙂 Michael is very joyful, flexible, patient and listened our needs all the way long. His positive attitude and smile was with us all the time making that day fly away very quickly with positive energy. Thanks to him this trip was unforgettable! Worth to add that also organizational perspective all was amazing and Marco who organized everything was easily reachable and responded promptly on our all questions. On top of safari we had Nairobi tour & Wasini Island trip which was also organized by Marco and it went perfectly. On Wasini we were positively surprised when we learned that Marco book for us lunch in smaller and less touristic place with amazing sea-food where we could rest from tourists.
