There is no compulsory liability insurance in Kenya. Nevertheless, it is strongly recommended that you take out liability and comprehensive insurance for the duration of your stay.
Travel cancellation insurance:
The conclusion of a travel cancellation insurance is recommended in case you fall ill.
Baggage insurance covers the cost of loss or theft of your baggage or parts of your baggage. However, whether valuables or expensive film or photographic equipment, for example, are also insured must be examined in detail.
Travel health insurance:
It is strongly recommended that you check with your statutory health insurance company to see whether your insurance also covers your overseas stay. If this is not the case, you would have to take out an additional private health insurance for travel abroad. In any case, official receipts for doctor's and medication bills must be kept.
Travel price security note:
It is a guarantee that you will be returned from your destination country to your home country if your travel company has gone bankrupt in the meantime.
Flight return insurance:
For serious cases of illness or accidents in Kenya, a flight return insurance policy must be taken out.
